Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
Drew Shaffer Studio is committed to making this site usable by as many people as possible. We target Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and work in the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accessibility is a moving line, not a finish line, and we treat it that way.
What we have implemented
- Semantic HTML landmarks. header, nav, main, and footer. so assistive technology can parse page structure cleanly.
- Full keyboard navigation, with visible focus states on every interactive element.
- A skip-to-content link at the top of every page so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the nav.
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful images; decorative images are marked as such.
- Color contrast ratios tested to pass WCAG AA for normal and large text.
- Respect for
prefers-reduced-motion: animations and parallax effects are reduced or removed when the user’s operating system requests it. - Accessible forms with visible labels, input hints, and clear error messaging on the contact form.
Known limitations
Some embedded video content is delivered through YouTube’s player. Third-party players may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA in every configuration. captions, for example, depend on the uploaded video. Where captions are missing from an embedded reel, we are working through our library to add them. If you hit a barrier in one of these embeds, tell us which reel and we will prioritize it.
